- Syncreality - XR Developer Tool -
Project Description
XR experiences are amazing, so why are developers are stuck in the box? For all the progress made on the side of hardware scale, power, and usability, XR experiences are still at odds with the one thing that makes them so powerful - the space around us. Very few people have the luxury of clearing room in the house to dedicate to play, so we asked ourselves -
What if the physical space is also part of the virtual?
Can we provide worry free movement to anyone, anywhere, in any room?
Can we incorporate the familiar elements of our everyday space into the unknown of the VR world?
SyncReality is a design tool for XR developers. It Intelligently maps and adapts developer made XR content to the real world - creating a custom fitted virtual stage that can be touched and explored. Your walls, desks, chairs, tables, etc become usable objects and play spaces. Sit at your table and have dinner with ghosts, play pong in your bedroom, steer your room sized submarine deep underwater.

Project Role
I was brought on board the SyncReality team to lead them in the creative direction, ideation, and development of prototype content, best design practises, use cases, and copmmunity outreach as they approached investors in anticipation of seed funding.
With my perspective as an expert game/VR developer, I integrated into their multi disciplinary team of film makers, architects, creative technologists, and game developers - helping at every step to define and guide project goals as well as developing our understanding of the tool as a product.
After settling on the core concepts for our prototype demo scenes, I produced the art assets and visual effects needed in Unity, as well as providing art direction and some art training to other team members.
I also worked on refining the project pitch deck and met with investors from the tech field.
